This regiment was engaged here at 10.30 a.m. April 7, 1862. It advanced to the wheat field where it assisted in
the capture of a battery but being unable to hold it fell back to this place. About noon it was again engaged in front.
Marker can be reached from Hornet's Nest Loop 0.1 miles north of Sunken Road, on the right when traveling north.
