This regiment was engaged here from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6, 1862. It formed first facing west and in a short time changed direction to rear on right company and was engaged facing south behind a fence, until ordered to the left when it became engaged near Wicker Field.
Marker is on Hamburg-Purdy Road 0.4 miles east of Eastern Corinth Road, on the left when traveling east.
