203 Prince Street
This handsome house is situated on land once owned by Aaron Burr. It was built in 1833-34 by John P. Haff, a prosperous leather inspector. The building is characteristic of many which once were located in this area, a residential section of the City favored by well-to-do families until the 1850s. This sympathetically restored townhouse survives today as one of the few remaining examples of a transitional period which combined elements of both Federal and Greek Revival styles.
Marker is on Prince Street near MacDougal Street.
