This regiment was engaged here at 10.30 a.m. April 7, 1862. It participated in the charge upon, and capture of a battery at the wheat field, fell back to this place, and at 12 m. advanced again to the Hamburg Road where it was engaged until 3 p.m.
Marker can be reached from Hornet's Nest Loop 0.1 miles north of Sunken Road, on the right when traveling north.
