Revolutionary War Cannon

Forged in 1762 in Leicester,

England, this cannon was part

of an outpost located near here

to defend the causeway at Four

Holes Creek during the

Revolutionary War. It was

recovered from the creek

beneath six feet of silt by a

bridge work crew in 1921.
