Nathaniel Bacon

Nathaniel Bacon

Among the tombs in the burial ground of the Ringfield family is a marker to Colonel Nathaniel Bacon who was prominent in Virginia affairs in the last half of the seventeenth century. He was a kinsman but an opponent of Nathaniel Bacon, Jr.-“the Bebel”-who led his forces against Governor Sir William Berkeley in 1676.
