A Replica of Ohio's First Capitol

This building, erected in 1940, is a replica of Ohio's first capitol. The stone below and the one beneath the opposite bronze plaque were taken from Ohio's first state house, erected in 1800 - the same year in which the Chillicothe Gazette was founded.

Marker is on Main Street (U.S. 50), on the right when traveling east.
