This was site of American Bridge Co. Largest steel fabricating plant in the world. Division of U.S. Steel Corp. erected 1903. During W.W. II Marine Dept. built LST landing crafts here. Closed April 1983.

Marker is at the intersection of 8th Street (Pennsylvania Route 989) and Ohio River Boulevard (Pennsylvania Route 65), on the right when traveling east on 8th Street.
