Nov. 25th, 1863 11 a.m.

One section of the battery, under Lieut. Isaiah Lightner, came into position on this ground during the morning, and on the appearance of the enemy's advance, took an active part with supporting infantry in driving back the right of the line of attack in its attempted advance across the open fields, and also in forcing him to seek protection behind the swell in the ridge to the right, and finally in the abandonment of his purpose to carry the ridge on this part of the line. After dark the battery retired with the army to Chickamauga Station. Casualties: a few men and horses; no guns or equipment. No official report extant.

Marker is at the intersection of North Crest Road and Lightfoot Mill Road, on the right when traveling north on North Crest Road.
