Battle of Campbell's Station

The Federal Gen. Ambrose Burnside, pursued by Gen. James Longstreet from Lenoir's Station via Concord, eluded an attempt by Gen. Lafayette McLaws, C.S.A., coming from Loudon via the Hotchkiss Valley and Kingston Roads, to head him off at the junction of the Concord and Kingston Roads, Nov. 16, 1863. Burnside stood off three attacks and then retired to Knoxville that night.

Marker is at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Lendon Welch Way, on the right when traveling west on Kingston Pike.
