Bergin Children-St. Michael's Cemetery
The second child of Daniel Bergin (1858-1915) and Susie Bauer Bergin (1860-1955), Daniel Conway Bergin (1883-1888), was born on May 19. Daniel Conway died from a tricycle accident on Valentine's Day when he was only five years old.
Daniel Matthew Bergin (1893-1908), the fifth Bergin child, was born on October 14. Daniel Matthew worked as a carrier for the Pensacola Journal. He died on September 24, 1908, at the age of 15, from blood poisoning that resulted from a slight injury.
Charlie Edward Bergin (1885-1944)was born on August 5. Around 1905, Charlie found work as a stenographer. That same year, Charlie and Hannah Maria Christopherson gave birth to a stillborn infant son. In 1907, Charlie married Hannah. They not have any more children. Charlie died on April 24 at the family home- 604 East La Rua Street.
Susie Bergin Spencer (1894-1969),was the youngest of the six Bergin children. She worked as a registered nurse and served in the Army during World War I. Susie also worked with the Florida Crippled Children's Commission. She served as chairman of the Florida Department of Child Welfare, and as secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 66. She married Aubrey J. Spencer. Susie died on July 25 in Panama City.
