Bldg. 36, 37, UWF Humanities, Arts and Media Center

Buildings 36 and 37, the work of the firm of Ellis Bullock Associates, reveal a two-story covered drive-through entry that connects the two structures that in 1967 made up the Humanities, Music, Theatre and Art Building and Media Center. The initial complex included classrooms, conference rooms, large-span theatre rooms, and a music and lecture hall with excellent acoustics.

Each classroom benefited from television hook-ups and advanced audio-visual equipment.

The Media Center was one of the most wired facilities on campus in 1967.

Today, Bldg. 36 houses the Communication Arts Department, complete with a television studio, the Voyager Student Newspaper, and computer labs. Information Technology Services Support Center occupies Bldg. 37.
