Bond School House

Built about 1835, 150 yards south. Named for John Bond, arecorded minister at Deep Creek Friends Meeting. On February 12, 1863, the Yadkin County Militia

tried to arrest about 16 men who resisted conscription into the Confederate Army. Gunfire followed. Killed were Soloman Hinshaw, James West, Eck Allgood and John Williams.
Marker is on Deep Creek Church Road, on the right when traveling east.
