Bowling Green & Warren County

Established in 1797, Warren County is named for Revolutionary War hero, Dr. Joseph Warren of Boston. Bowling Green was platted in the late 1790s and incorporated in 1812. The city is believed to be named for New York's Bowling Green Park, where Revolutionary insurgents felled a statue of King George III of England.

Marker is at the intersection of Riverview Drive (U.S. 31W) and College Street, on the right when traveling north on Riverview Drive.
