Hiram S. and Miles Bradford inaugurated this landing in 1824. Together with Brownsville Landing, 10 miles upriver, it was a river terminal for the first settlers and commerce in this area. Hiram Bradford established the first cotton gin and store in Brownsville.

Marker is at the intersection of U.S. 70 and River Bend Road, on the right when traveling west on U.S. 70.
