Brokaw-McDougall House
Constructed in c.1856, this house was the residence of Peres B. Brokaw, a Tallahassee businessman and political leader who served as the captain of a local militia unit, the Leon Cavalry. A supporter of secession, Brokaw led his troops in torchlight demonstrations during the January 1861 Florida Secession Convention, and served as a captain in the 2nd Florida Cavalry during the Civil War.
