Steuben, both on his retreat from Simcoe and on his return north to join Lafayette, passed near here, June, 1781.
Marker is at the intersection of Anderson Highway (U.S. 60) and Cumberland Road (Virginia Route 45), on the right when traveling east on Anderson Highway.
