Carlisle Iron Works
Founded about 1762 by John Rigbie and Co. Operated after 1781 by Michael Ege, noted ironmaster of the period. Ruins of the charcoal furnace still stand.
Marker is at the intersection of E. 1st Street (Pennsylvania Route 174) and S. Ridge Road, on the right when traveling west on E. 1st Street.
