Casa Paoli

Casa Paoli is nationally significant as the birthplace of Antonio Emilio Paoli y Marcano (1871-1946), recognized as the greatest tenor born in Puerto Rico and one of the most outstanding opera singers of all time.

Antonio Paoli, the Tenor of Kings and the King of Tenors, was considered by many, at the height of his performing abilities, to have one of the most lyric and powerful voices in the highly competitive world of opera, superior even to his contemporary rival, Enrico Caruso.

Paoli was introduced to art and opera at this house during his formative years. Casa Paoli is currently used as a museum to honor the great career of Antonio Paoli.
