Chapel Point Park

Site of county recreational facilities from the early 1900s to 1962, at the confluence of the Potomac and Port Tobacco Rivers. Originally a resort for St. Thomas Manor, steamboats brought passengers from Washington DC for the day. Opened to the general public in 1925 with facilities for picnic, rollerskating, social functions, restaurant, beach with bath houses and hotel. Site of the first County fair in 1924.

Marker is on Chapel Point Rd near Between St. Ignatius Church and Pisces Ln.
