Clinton House Museum

Not only did the future U.S. president Bill Clinton and U.S. Secretary of State call this their first home, but they were married right in the living room. Bill and Hillary were married in October of 1975 while they were both professors at the University of Arkansas School of Law and while Bill was running his campaign for Arkansas Attorney General.

The dining room of this modest home served as the "war room" for the attorney general's campaign, and many students and current Fayetteville residents have fond memories of spending time with the Clintons in the rec room.

The kitchen immediately reminds visitors of 1975 and is painted in just the way Hillary had it painted then. The rest of the house is an excellent example of the 1931 Tudor-Revival style home with the original oak floors, glass door knobs, and 8-over-8 windows.

The museum's collections include memoribilia from Clinton's 1974 campaign for Congress as well as the 1976 campaign for Attorney General. We also have a faithful replica of Hillary's wedding dress and many other items related to the Clintons' life in Arkansas and beyond.
