Advanced Position of Ewell's Corps

The second advanced position held by Ewell’s Confederate Corps here crossed the Old Church Road. This position was evacuated by the Confederates on the night of May 30, 1864. Occupied by the Federals on May 31 and attacked from the West by Southern troops on June 1.

Marker is on Mechanicsville Turnpike (U.S. 360) 0.1 miles from Westhaven Drive, on the right when traveling east.
