This memorial was dedicated Oct. 21, 1914

by survivors of his regiment and

Fletcher Webster Post, G.A.R.

of Brockton, Mass.

He gave his life for

the principles laid down by his father

Daniel Webster

"Liberty and union,

now and forever, one and inseparable"

This boulder was taken from

the Webster place, Marshfield, Mass.

Marker can be reached from Chinn Ridge Loop 0.6 miles west of Sudley Road (Virginia Road 234), on the right when traveling west.
