Colonial Quarter

Originally opened as an attraction in 1963, the Colonial Quarter has been revamped and is once again a staple of the local tourist itinerary. Through living interpreters, historical immersion ,and recreated buildings, the outdoor museum brings history to life. Entertainment and education mix in an appeal to younger audiences. Children will enjoy the gunsmith, blacksmith, and staged performances.

The Colonial Quarter is divided into four staged living history exhibits escorting travelers through four centuries of Florida history with live interpreters spread throughout. Visitors experience 17th century Spanish fortified town, 16th century Spanish first city, 18th century Spanish Garrison and 18th century British colony. These four quarters bring the history of Florida to life.

This attraction has just recently re-opened under the ownership of local attraction-owner Pat Croce--the owner of the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum. The site is easily accessible located on the busy St. George Street, which runs through downtown. (Bret Speicher, Colonial Quarter Intern, Flagler College)
