Used by Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg as headquarters during the Battle of Perryville, Oct. 8, 1862. Crawford Spring, back of the house, furnished vital water supply to CSA troops on the drought stricken battlefield.

Marker is on Harrodsburg Road (U.S. 68) south of South Braxton Drive, on the right when traveling south.
