Daniel Patrick Bergin-St. Michael's Cemetery

Daniel Patrick Bergin (1858-1915)was born on May 1. He was the proprietor of the Bank Exchange Saloon and Restaurant at 315-317 South Palafox Street in 1893. He also worked as a barkeeper and sanitary inspector between 1898 and 1911. Daniel was also a member of the Woodmen of the World fraternal benefit society that was founded in 1890.

In 1880 Daniel married Susie Bauer(1860-1955) born on March 25. Daniel and Susie are the patriarch and matriarch of the Bergin family interred at St. Michael's Cemetery.

Susie, the daughter of Kaspar and Dora Bauer, worked in the family grocery store. She eventually established her own grocery store at 223 West Zaragossa Street. Between 1881 and 1894 Susie gave birth to six children.

Daniel Bergin died on April 14, 1915 of a brain hemorrhage. Susie Bergin died on June 14, 1955 at the age of 95.
