The battery took position late in the evening of the 24th, on the crest of the detached spur northeast of this point, and north of the railroad, where, during the repeated assaults of the enemy, on the 25th, it rendered effective service, by a rapid fire on the left flank of the lines storming Tunnel Hill.

The battery was reinforced in the afternoon of the 25th by 2 - 12 pdr. Napoleons of Swetts' battery and retired with its division after dark.

No losses reported.
