Following the outbreak of World War I, Dr. Cobb enlisted in the U.S. Army and received orders for Europe. While in France, he continued his education and following his return to Pensacola in 1919, he reopened his practice.
In addition to his dedication to medicine, Dr. Cobb grew fond of local sports. He organized two semi-pro teams, the Pensacola Seagulls Baseball Team and the Pensacola Giants Football Team.
