Draughon Cross Roads
Named for George and Hardy Draughon, brothers who came from Edgecombe County about 1795, and purchased land joining both roads. George lived near this spot. Later he moved to 9/10 mile beyond Beamon’s Cross Roads, Hwy. No. 421, died and was buried there in 1866, age 94. Two sons Gary and James lived here from marriage until death 1850-1854. Hardy lived one mile south at next cross roads, died and buried there in 1841, age 74.
Marker is at the intersection of Harnett-Dunn Hwy (North Carolina Route 55) and Green Path Road, on the right when traveling east on Harnett-Dunn Hwy.
