This house was built by Dr. Russell Peery in the 1890s. It was originally constructed in Cummings Valley for use as a hotel and spa. Later dismantled, it was moved to the present site. In 1928, it was used as a high school, and continued until conventional high school buildings were completed. The building retains its original high ceilings.

Marker is on South Curry Street just south of West D Street, on the right when traveling south.
