Killam was rushed to the Escambia General Hospital, which later became the University Hospital, after the incident, but was pronounced Dead-on-Arrival. it is the same hospital in which he was scheduled to be Baker Acted for his excessive drug use and reoccuring blackouts. The hospital was finally converted into a part of the Escambia County Jail.
