Fulton Burying Ground
In 1798 Samuel Fulton and his father John, soldiers of the American Revolution, his mother Jane Dills Fulton, brother Thomas, brother-in-law Christopher Huston and their families, made the first permanent settlement on the bank of the Ohio River in present Rising Sun.
The Fultons migrated from Pa. And were co-founders of the First Presbyterian Churches in Lancaster, Pa. and Rising Sun, Ind. Samuel and Robert Fulton, the inventor, were cousins.
In 1811 Samuel moved to this farm.
Marker is at the intersection of Indiana Route 56 N and Bellview Lane, on the left when traveling north on State Route 56 N.
