Greenwood Cemetery - St. Petersburg

Often called the Veteran's Cemetery due to the number of Civil War soldiers and sailors buried here, this cemetery contains the remains of at least 100 Confederate and Union veterans.

In 1900, two monuments were constructed at the center of the cemetery in honor of each side. The Confederate monument was erected by Confederate Veterans and Friends, while the Union monument was erected by the Grand Army of the Republic, a Union veteran’s organization.
