Grimsby 1812 Bicentennial Flagpole

We dedicate this flagpole to the

Grimsby 1812 Bicentennial peace garden

in honour of the "Encounter at the Forty"

at this site on June 8, 1813, a turning point in

the War of 1812 by the United States and the British.

Also, to celebrate 200 years of peace and

prosperity that has existed between

Canada and the United States.
