Two miles south on Rocky River
Anderson Water, Light, & Power Co.,
organized in 1894 by
William C. Whitner,
was successful the next year
in transmitting electricity over
the distance of six miles
to Anderson.
This achievement was a herald
of the industrial revolution
in the South.
Marker is at the intersection of Broadway Lake Road and Belton Highway (U.S. 78), on the right when traveling east on Broadway Lake Road.
