Opened in 2004, The University of West Florida International Center and Japan House offer state-of-the-art amenities and classrooms for international education programs and cultural events. Features of the complex include international education classrooms, an authentic tatami room and a Japanese tea room. The Japan House provides educational space for Japanese language and culture; display space for Japanese artifacts and art; a site for demonstrating Japanese culture and traditions; a meeting place to further friendships among those who appreciate and enjoy diverse cultures; and a social center for the community to participate in university programs.
