He rose from sales trainee to become president and chairman of Armstrong World Industries, a director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers. A leader in the revitalization of Downtown Lancaster, he exemplified the belief that individuals and businesses are responsible for the well-being of their communities.
