Where John Brown Was Tried

In this courthouse, John Brown, the abolitionist, was tried and found guilty of treason, conspiracy and murder. He was hanged four blocks from here on December 2, 1859. •

Visitors are Welcome.

Marker is at the intersection of North George Street and East Washington Street (U.S. 340), on the right when traveling north on North George Street.
