Jimitre Perez

Jimitre Perez 1820-1875

Very little is known about Jimitre Perez, largely due to the fact that he is not mentioned in the historic record aside from the carvings on his tombstone. This Pensacola native was born in April 1820, possibly to the only other Perez mentioned in the local records of the early 1800s, Juan, who in 1832 signed a petition backing James Gadsen for Governor of Florida. Jimitre died on April 10th, 1875, at age 55 and was survived by his "affectionate" brother, C. Perez.
