Lewis Discovers a High Mound
July 4, 1804
William Clark recorded in his
journal that on this date:
"Capt. Lewis walked on Shore above
this Creek and discovered a high
moun[d] from the top of which he
had an extensive view, 3 paths
Concentering at the moun[d]"
Marker is on River Road near Commercial Street, on the right when traveling north.
