Liberty Church Grounds

In May 1864, while on its way to Kennesaw and Atlanta Campaigns, the Army of the North seiged Liberty Church and grounds for use as a field hospital.

During the occupation numerous soldiers suffered the trauma of amputation. These body parts were buried in a common pit.

This plot shall forever remain sacred and holy.

Marker is on Liberty Road 0.1 miles east of Georgia Route 53, on the left when traveling east.
