Maj. Gen. William Colbert
A noted Chickasaw chief who served the United States at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, 1794, and in the War of 1812. Colbert died in Pontotoc in 1836 and is believed to be buried in this cemetery.
Marker is on North Main Street (Mississippi Route 9) just north of Oxford Street (Mississippi Route 9), on the right when traveling south.
