Methodist since 1792. Begun as Anglican c. 1733. Visited by bishops Francis Asbury and Thomas Coke. Building erected 1837; remodeled 1882. 2½ mi. E.
Marker is at the intersection of North Carolina Route 343 and Main Street (U.S. 17), on the right when traveling north on State Route 343.
