Meeting House

Westfield Historical Site

Site of the first permanent frame house of worship, facing the Church Green, known as the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, organized 1728. Erected circa 1740, it was enlarged in 1758 and a bell added. British troops occupied and damaged the building in 1777. In 1805 it was succeeded by a larger building across “the road to the mountains” in front of the present church.
