Montgomery County Court House

1784

The original county jail, built in 1787, stood here with the original courthouse. In 1851, a new jail was built and still stands on Airy St. near DeKalb. Designed by Napoleon LeBrun, the architect who later designed the courthouse, the new jail cost eighty six thousand dollars to construct.

Marker is at the intersection of Airy Street and Church Street, on the left when traveling west on Airy Street.
