Mt. Pleasant Church

In 1835 St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church

moved here from about 1 mi. south and

changed its name to Mt. Pleasant.

It is generally accepted that this

congregation was organized ca. 1750

and that John George Bamberg

preached there shortly after 1798.

In 1873 the S.C. Lutheran Synod met

at Mt. Pleasant in a new building

since incorporated into the present

structure.

Marker is on Mt Pleasant Road (South Carolina Route S-5-25) near Jager Road.
