Museum of Fine Arts

The MFA, a city of St. Petersburg landmark, opened to the public in 1965 - the first art museum in St. Petersburg. Founder Margaret Acheson Stuart wanted visitors to experience art as in a private home, which is the feeling you have when touring the many galleries.

In 2008, the Hazel Hough Wing was added to the original building and the entrance leads into the Mary Alice McClendon Glass Conservatory, where weddings, corporate events and MFA programs are held. Also in this wing is the Explore More Gallery for children, the MFA Cafe with indoor/outdoor seating and the MFA Store. The installation of world-class exhibitions takes place here with the permanent collection beautifully presented in the original building.
