National Historic Landmark- Benjamin West, Birthplace

Located on the campus of Swarthmore College, this is the birthplace of Benjamin West (1728-1820), who made major contributions to American art through his support for young artists, such as Gilbert Stuart and Charles Willson Peale, as well as through his own painting
