National Historic Landmark- Charles Willson Peale, House
From 1810 to 1820, this was the home of Charles Willson Peale (1741-1827), the country's preeminent painter during its early national period.
Peale, remembered for his miniatures and portraits of notable Americans, painted seven likenesses of George Washington.
Three of Peale's sons, Raphael, Rembrandt and Reubens Peale, also became famed artists.
