National Historic Landmark -Christ Episcopal Church
Begun in 1846, this edifice is one of the first Gothic Revival churches in the Southern states.
Designed by Richard Upjohn, this modest asymmetrical building with a steeply pitched roof was derived from a rural English model.
It set the style in the South for a long time, and is considered one of Upjohn's finest expressions in the Gothic style.
